Ina’s visual story across East London

Photos with Ina hold a special place in my work as a photographer. She first traveled to London for a photo session a few summers ago to mark a meaningful new chapter in her life, seeking portraits that captured both her personal journey and her professional presence. A few summers later, she returned to London, ready for an update to her visual story.

Making meaningful memories in London

When you invest in a portrait session in London, the goal extends beyond taking quick snapshots. A thoughtfully planned photoshoot serves as a visual anchor for your personal milestones while providing polished, authentic imagery for your professional branding. Returning for an update every few years allows your visual identity to evolve naturally alongside your life and career. And of course you can combine your photo session with a lovely and exciting city trip.

Choosing the ideal backdrop for your London photoshoot

Selecting the right location is one of the most essential steps in planning a successful session. London offers an incredible variety of environments, from classic historical streets to striking modern architecture. Because Ina is naturally drawn to water and also needed business style photos, the Royal Docks in East London provided the ideal setting for our first shoot. The area around the ExCel Centre offers a variety of very distinct visual moods along the waterfront. A few examples of the more casual photos there are those above.

Water and Glass at the Royal Docks and City Hall

Our very first session took us down to the Royal Docks in East London. Shooting along the canal, near City Hall, the ExCeL Centre, and the cable cars, offered a wonderfully spacious waterfront setting. The blend of historic dockland heritage, calm water reflections, and modern urban elements provided a relaxed backdrop where Ina could feel completely comfortable moving at her own pace.

Modern elegance at Canary Wharf

For our second session together, we focused on Canary Wharf. The area’s sleek glass facades and striking architectural reflections created a sophisticated environment for polished, business-ready shots. The clean lines and reflective surfaces gave her business portraits a refined, contemporary look without feeling stiff or overly formal.

To contrast the structured feel of the financial district, we also visited the Canary Wharf rooftop garden. Nestled high above the city, the greenery and soft light created a calm atmosphere for editorial lifestyle images that felt warm, open, and natural.

What Ina shared about our sessions

“I’m more than happy to have met Nadine some years ago. Both photo sessions were amazing. I like the way she chooses the places, her friendliness, her style as a photographer, and how she makes a photo session easy and comfortable. London is still a special place for me, with a lot of memories, and I’m sure I will come back again to add some new pictures to my personal story.”

Frequently asked questions about London photo sessions

Can a single photo session in London combine both personal and business portraits?

Yes, absolutely. By carefully choosing versatile locations with varied backdrops—such as Canary Wharf’s combination of corporate architecture and rooftop gardens—we can capture polished, business-ready shots as well as relaxed, personal lifestyle images within the same session.

How do we choose the right location for a photoshoot in London?

We choose locations based on your personal style, brand aesthetic, and the mood you want to evoke. During our initial planning, we discuss what environments resonate with you—whether that means sleek architectural reflections in Canary Wharf, spacious waterfronts like the Royal Docks, or historic urban streets.

If I am traveling to London for a holiday, can I book a session at short notice?

Yes, please get in touch! While booking in advance is ideal, you are always welcome to reach out on short notice. Even if I am fully booked or unavailable on those specific dates, I have a network of lovely local photographers who can step in and help capture your trip.

What if I feel nervous or uncomfortable in front of the camera?

My photo sessions are designed to be calm, easy, and fully guided. You never have to worry about how to pose; I direct you gently throughout the shoot to ensure you feel relaxed, confident, and natural in every frame.
